College magazine analysis
The magazine I am analysis is called College Lifestyle and it focuses on providing information to people who are at college. The target audience for this magazine is people who go to college.
The master head on this magazine has been written in large bold font. They have done this on purpose as it would stand out from the page making it more viewable for people to recognise what this magazine is and what it is about. The colour of the master head has been printed out in the colour yellow as it is a bright colour it will be able to draw the target audience as its bright and also the colour yellow symbolises age showing that it is targeting an older audience and also warmth and they have done this so the audience can feel comfortable around it as the magazine is not attacking you with loads of different colours.
On the front cover of this magazine they use yellow a lot. The reason why they have done this is so that they can highlight the headlines attract readers to the news which could interests a person more for example ‘Make money on campus’ this could intrigue college students as they might want to earn money for personal things.
In this magazine it uses an enlarged picture of a student on the front cover as they want to show the audience who they are aimed at and what an average student there would be looking like and showing a picture of an attractive persons helps sell the magazine more as it makes it more interesting.
The background which is covered in all black behind the picture and the headlines, they have done this to make everything that has been placed on top stand for example the yellow and white headlines and also to make person on the front cover to stand out too.
They have also included the bar code on the magazine and made it visible to show that it is not free showing it does have a price.
In my opinion I think that magazine does attract its target audience as it talks about college life and topics which may interest college students and the colours that are presented on the cover are bright which could attract college student.
